Where the name comes from
Lova is a small play on words. In English, it echoes "lover." But the name is actually Norwegian — Norway is where the app was born — and in Norwegian, å love seg bort means "to pledge yourself away."
That's the old word for getting engaged: å trulove seg — literally, to make a true promise. An engagement was always just that: an avtale om å gifte seg, an agreement to marry. A promise made before the wedding itself.
That's what this app is for — the season between the promise and the day it's kept. Lova is here for the planning that happens in between.
